Write about it, they said...
My writing explores the reality of intersectionality among cultures, religions, and countries. These pieces reflect my experience supporting my family, the reality of being the oldest South Asian daughter, and anticipatory grief in all its forms. Each poem is a window into navigating multiple identities and the beautiful complexity of belonging to many worlds at once.

Read PoemAbout My Writing
Writing has always been my way of processing the world around me. As someone who exists at the intersection of multiple cultures, religions, and identities, I find poetry to be the perfect medium for exploring the nuances of belonging and not belonging simultaneously.
These poems reflect my journey as the oldest daughter in a South Asian family, the weight of expectations, the beauty and burden of cultural preservation, and the anticipatory grief that comes with watching loved ones navigate their own struggles while trying to hold everyone together.
Each piece is deeply personal, yet I hope they resonate with anyone who has ever felt caught between worlds, responsible for others' happiness, or searching for their authentic self in the mirror of family expectations.
